Stanaway back in action

New Zealand's ex-Formula One junior Richie Stanaway has capped a remarkable comeback from serious injury to return to full-time single-seater racing with Status Grand Prix in the GP3 competition.

The 22-year-old, who has not raced a single-seater since suffering back injuries in a Formula Renault 3.5 crash in 2012, completes the team's 2014 line-up alongside Nick Yelloly and Alfonso Celis Jr.

Stanaway, who has raced in the Porsche Supercup and World Endurance Championship since returning to racing, says he always hoped his injury was a bump in the road, not the end of the road for his single seater career.

He made four GP3 starts towards the end of the 2011 season with ART, which included a victory on his debut weekend at Spa.

He will continue to compete in GT racing for Aston Martin alongside his GP3 campaign.
