New Zealand have ended day one of the Wellington Sevens on a much brighter note than the way they started, beating France 47-0 in their final pool game to set up today's quarter-final clash with Canada.
The hosts finished second in their group, following a shock 12-7 loss to Fiji in their opening pool game.
The All Blacks Sevens had to win their last two pool games after the defeat, which they did, also over-running Spain 55-0.
Fiji topped pool B after going through day one unbeaten.
Sevens world series leaders South Africa will face Australia in the quarter- finals, the defending champions England will play Samoa, and Fiji will play Argentina.
The action kicks off at 1pm, with New Zealand's quarter-final just before 3pm.
