Lehmann dumps former NZ coach

Australian cricket's head coach Darren Lehmann has dumped his assistant Steve Rixon, saying the former head coach of New Zealand no longer fits into his plans for the team.

The news follows last week's announcement that the great leg-spinner Shane Warne will act as a consultant to the squad's spin bowlers for the Twenty20 series in South Africa in March.

Lehmann, who took over as coach for the 2013 Ashes series in England, says he wants various specialist coaches and experts working with the team when needed.
