Steve Johnson can't believe his good form at Heineken Open

The lucky loser, Steve Johnson, is shaking his head after pulling off two big wins in one day at the Heineken tennis Open in Auckland.

The American only made the main draw after the French star and seventh seed, Gael Monfils, pulled out before the tournament.

Yesterday Johnson had to play both the Cypriot star Marcos Baghdatis and the South African fourth seed Kevin Anderson, after rain washed out his first round match on Tuesday night.

But Johnson had his best day so far on the ATP Tour, with the world number 160 knocking out the 109th-ranked Baghdatis in three sets, and the world number 20 Anderson in straight sets.

The 24-year-old says he can't quite believe he beat not one but two players ranked above him in one day.
