New Zealand darts player Rob Szabo has given 16-time world champion Phil 'The Power' Taylor a major scare at the darts World Cup in London.
Szabo, a 48-year-old builder from Wellington, took the first set off Taylor and was leading in the second before the Englishman appeared to take control and took a 2-1 lead in the first to three competition.
But Szabo levelled it up in the fourth set at 2-2 before Taylor finally nailed the double 16 he needed for victory.
Szabo joined the last 64 players at the tournament by beating Englishman Ian Moss earlier in the day.
He was the first of the international qualifiers back in July, and still takes home at least $12,000 in prizemoney.
