Wellington's Luke Ronchi has been called up to the New Zealand cricket team as a replacement for the injured batsman, Kane Williamson.
The 23 year old fractured a thumb in this morning's 43 run loss to Bangladesh in the first one day international at Dhaka.
Williamson is expected to be out for six weeks, which rules him out of leading the team on next month's tour of Sri Lanka, and could affect his involvement in December's test series with the West Indies.
Another replacement player and captain for the Sri Lanka tour have yet to be named.
