World tennis number one Rafael Nadal took four hours and three minutes to subdue Novak Djokovic in three sets and gain a place in the Madrid Open final.
The Spaniard had a heavily strapped knee for much of the match which he eventually won 3-6 7-6 7-6
Nadal will play Roger Federer in tomorrow's final.
Federer beat the fifth seed, Juan Martin Del Potro, in two sets in their semi.
