The up and coming Tauranga golfer Josh Geary has taken another big step in his professional career by finishing in a tie for fourth yesterday at the New Zealand Open championship in Arrowtown.
Geary was seven strokes behind the runaway winner, Alex Prugh of the United States, who finished at 19-under par and picked up the winners cheque of almost $220 thousand dollars.
Geary tied for second at last week's PGA championship in Christchurch, and his results this year have given him a boost as he heads for the second tier US Nationwide tour after spending the last two years on the lesser Canadian tour.
