The Irish Rugby Union hopes to have a new coach before the side's game against the All Blacks in November.
The Union didn't renew Delcan Kidney's contract, ending his five-years as coach of the Irish national side.
It comes after the team finished second-to-last in this year's Six Nations -their worst performance in the competition in 14 years.
Irish assistant coach Les Kiss will lead the side for a tour of North America in June before an appointment of a new coach later in the year.
Reds coach Ewen McKenzie, former Blues assistant coach Joe Schmidt, and current Brumbies Jake White are amoung the favourites to take over the role.
