The outspoken Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has lashed out at the country's sports bosses for a "complete failure" at the 2012 London Olympics.
The authoritarian Lukashenko, who also serves as president of the Belarus Olympic Committee, told delegates at the annual BOC convention that Belarus people will no longer tolerate such a "disastrous showing", labelling the performance in Britain a "complete failure".
Belarus won 12 medals, two of them gold and ended up 26th in the overall medal standings in London after shot putter Nadezhda Ostapchuk was stripped of her gold after testing positive for a banned anabolic steroid.
Ostapchuk, 31, was handed a one-year ban by the Belarus anti-doping agency last month and New Zealand's Valerie Adams was awarded the gold.
At the Beijing Games, the former Soviet state had their largest-ever medal haul - winning 19 medals, four of them gold.
