Black Caps beaten by Proteas

The New Zealand cricket captain Ross Taylor is happy with their final preparation for the Twenty20 World Cup in Sri Lanka, a 9-run loss to South Africa in Colombo.

The Proteas scored 186 for 6 with Adam Milne and James Franklin picking up 2 wickets each, while New Zealand finished on 177 for 7 with Taylor scoring 75 off 42 balls.

Taylor says it wasn't a bad result considering they only had 11 fit players to choose from.

The Black Caps opened their bowling with 2 spinners, Ronnie Hira and Nathan McCullum and changed their batting lineup with James Franklin opening and Kane Williamson coming in at 7.

New Zealand's first match of the T20 World Cup is against Bangladesh on Friday.
