A wool exporters representative says they are willing to join discussions on the role Wools of New Zealand can play in rebuilding demand for strong wool.
The promotion and technical services body, set up with farmer money under the old Wool Board, is back under grower control in a new trust.
The trustees say they will be consulting the rest of the industry about the future of Wools of New Zealand in the next few weeks.
Exporters led opposition to an earlier plan from a wool buying and marketing co-operative that would have included Wools of New Zealand.
However, Wool Exporters' President John Dawson says any contribution to wool promotion is welcome and they are open to discussions about where Wools of New Zealand fits in.
Mr Dawson says the exporters are doubling their financial support for the international campaign for wool to $750,000 a year.
