More dairy awards have been announced - this time for the Manawatu region.
The Sharemilker Equity Farmer of the Year went to Richard Ash, a first time entrant who is equity sharemilking 1400 cows near Marton.
John Wyatt took out the Farm Manager of the year. He milks more than 400 cows at Kairanga.
He also won the Hawke's Bay Wairarapa Dairy Trainee of the year title in 2009, and hoped to own his own farm through 50 percent sharemilking in ten years.
The Manawatu Dairy Trainee of the Year is Blake Moore, who said the win would boost opportunities as he seeks a manager's position for the coming season.
The 21-year-old was currently second in charge for Olsen Agriculture, milking 750 cows in Opiki.
