Three New Zealand crews have advanced to their respective finals on the fourth day of competition at the world rowing champs on Lake Karapiro.

Defending world champions Peter Taylor and Strom Uru finished second in their semifinal to easily qualify for Friday's final of men's lightweight double scull.

In the women's lightweight double scull, Lucy Strack and Julia Edward powered to the finish of their semifinal to grab second place and sneak into their final.

The women's quad scull also qualified for their final, but the men's quad missed out.
