Organisers of the World Rowing Championships at Lake Karapiro say all races will be rowed on Monday.
Most of the first day's racing on Sunday was suspended because of rough lake conditions.
Only five heats were raced over the 2000-metre course before race officials called it a day.
Better conditions are forecast for Monday, with the international rowing federation saying disrupted programmes are not uncommon.
The 28 heats missed will be raced, along with the 38 scheduled races.
Federation executive director Matt Smith says everything will be done to make sure all of the more than 200 races are completed before next Sunday.
All ticket holders from Sunday can return on Monday for free.
