One person has died and two others are critically injured after their car collided with a school bus in Kumeu, north-west of Auckland.
The crash happened at 4.10pm on Thursday.
The Fire Service says the car's driver was trapped in the vehicle and died at the scene.
One of the 21 students suffered minor injuries.
Old North Road is blocked to traffic while emergency services are on the scene.
