A multi-million dollar classic motorcycle collection owned by a Nelson businessman has been sold and will move to Invercargill.

Tom and Heather Sturgess have sold the 300-strong collection to Bill Richardson Transport World, which plans to display it in Invercargill later this year.

Mr Sturgess, a Nelson-based businessman with extensive business interests in New Zealand and overseas, has been battling ill health.

He is reviewing his assets in New Zealand and the United States.

Scott O'Donnell from Transport World said the collection was worth many millions of dollars.
