A multimillion dollar wind farm planned for South Taranaki is back on the cards.
Trustpower has lodged resource consent applications with local councils for the project which is expected to be on the coast near Waverley.
The company's community relations manager Graeme Purches said the economic viability and technology was improving.
He said details of the wind farm would be released once the consents were publicly notified.
In 2012, the wind farm was said to be worth $300 million and involve up to 48 towers.
