A man is in a serious condition after being trapped in a grain silo in Southland this morning.

Emergency Services were called to the incident near Riversdale just before 10am.
Four Fire Service crews, St John and the Otago Rescue Helicopter responded.
The fire crews were able to pull the man from the silo before paramedics arrived.
A St John Spokesman says the man is in a serious condition and is being assessed.
