A body has been found in a burned out car in a Lower Hutt regional park.

The Fire Service was called to a burning car on Hill Road in Belmont Regional Park about 7.30am.
Police spokesman Inspector Mike Coleman said the crews called police after finding a body inside the car.
Police are investigating.
