A piece of Wellington has gone missing and authorities are relying on someone with a conscience to bring it back.

The Bucket Fountain in Cuba Street is out of action after someone removed the largest yellow bucket.
But Wellington City Council spokesperson Richard Maclean said police had not started looking through CCTV footage.
"I think the police are sort of taking a wait and see approach to it, as are we, just hoping that whoever has taken away will be a good citizen and bring it back," he said.
Mr Maclean said there was suspicion the theft was linked to the recent arrival of thousands of university students in the capital for the beginning of the tertiary year.
