Swimmers have been forced out of the sea on the Kapiti Coast, north of Wellington, after five sharks were spotted in the area.
Kapiti Heliworx owner and pilot Dennis Young who was flying near Peka Peka and Waikanae beaches was the first to spot the sharks.

He says they were about 200 metres away from nearby swimmers.
Police have said swimmers and beachgoers should stay out of the water.
