Two men who carried out an aggravated robbery before leading police on a chase through Christchurch have been remanded in custody.
Kereopa Hune, 28, and Gordon Herbert, 22, appeared in Christchurch District Court this morning.
It is alleged they robbed three young people in Parklands on Tuesday night, using an imitation firearm.
Police attempted to pull the pair over yesterday morning, but they failed to stop.
Police laid spikes on the corner of Colombo and Tennyson Streets which led the car, which was stolen, to crash into a pole. The men escaped on foot but were caught and arrested.
They are jointly charged with aggravated robbery.
Mr Herbert faces another five charges including the assault of a police officer using a car.
Both were remanded in custody to reappear next month.
