Police have charged a man with murder after the death of a 24-year-old in the Auckland suburb of Mt Albert.

Nathan Pukeroa was attacked outside a house on Renton Road in the early hours of last Thursday morning. He died at the scene.
A 22-year-old friend of his was also injured.
The police said in a statement that a 25-year-old had been charged over the killing, and was due to appear in the Auckland District Court this afternoon.
The accused has also been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Officers have been examining the property next door to the house where Mr Pukeroa was killed, and said they expected to be there for the next few days.
They had recovered several items of interest and were confident the weapon used to kill Mr Pukeroa was among them.
