Robert Timothy Rapana was due to go to trial today over the murder of Chevy Davis, 24, and wounding his 28-year-old cousin Rio Davis with intent to cause bodily harm.

However at the High Court in Auckland this morning he entered a plea of guilty to both charges.

Mr Davis's body was found in the driveway of a Fisher Crescent house on 21 December 2014 after what police said had started as an argument over music, and his cousin was found injured inside.

Rapana has been remanded in custody until Wednesday.
