All train services north of Wellington are back to normal after a man was killed by a freight train this morning.

The police say a man, who was in a wheelchair, came off the platform at the Paraparaumu station and was hit by a north bound train, just before 11.30am.
The police are now contacting the 66-year-old's next of kin and they've been speaking with the train driver.
A member of the public who was on the platform at the time is being assisted by Victim Support.
The Serious Crash Unit and KiwiRail are investigating
