A man has been warned after police were called to a Christchurch address following reports of a person waving a gun in the street.
The armed offenders squad was called out and police cordoned off a stretch of Union Street in the suburb of South Brighton at around 5pm on Saturday.
One resident said she heard police shouting to the occupants that the house was surrounded and asking them to come out with their hands on their heads.
A police spokesperson said police spoke to both occupants of the house and an air rifle was found.
Police say the pair were good to deal with and a man has been warned about his actions.
