Rebuild Christchurch director, and one of the founders of Youth Vision Christchurch 2030 initiative, Deon Swiggs, said the regeneration of Christchurch was going ahead full steam, but young people have not necessarily had a chance to properly input their thinking into the plans and concepts that were being implemented.

Deon Swiggs said Youth Vision Christchurch 2030 would give young people a say on what was important to them, and how they would like the city to develop over the next 15 years.

Mr Swiggs said it was imperative for young people to contribute their views on the characteristics and values that were important for the Christchurch they wished to see created.

The project was primarily targeted at young people under 30 years of age.

It would launch further initiatives as part of a 12-month campaign.
