Detectives are investigating an incident in the early hours where two men were shot at behind an Auckland fast food restaurant.
Police said the pair, aged 25 and 30, were confronted by two others while they were sitting in their car in a carpark behind KFC in Point Chevalier about 1.30am.
It is understood that an air pistol was fired at them.
The men, who sustained moderate to minor injuries, drove themselves to Auckland City Hospital and then alerted the police.
Detective Sergeant Jacqui Corner said officers had examined the scene and were appealing for any witnesses with information to come forward.
