People living on six remote Canterbury sheep stations, who have had no power for a week, could continue to be without until Monday.
Heavy snow brought down power lines last Thursday.
Line-crews are still working to repair significant damage to 30 kilometres of power lines near Lake Coleridge.
An Orion spokesman said most customers would have power back on by the end of the day, but about six in the area would not have power until Sunday or Monday.
The spokesman said the six back country customers were well prepared.
