Former TAIC commissioner John Marshall dies

The prominent Wellington lawyer John Marshall has died at his Wellington home, 11 months after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

John Marshall was the former Chief Commissioner of the Transport Accident Investigation Commission.

He was honoured in the recent Queen's Birthday Honours list for services to the law.

Mr Marshall was a highly regarded litigator who also specialised in arbitration and mediation, and was a former president of the New Zealand Law Society.

Mr Marshall, who was 68 years old, is survived by his wife, Mary, their three children.
