An Auckland school teacher says it was a "poor error of judgement" that led to him looking at pornography on a school computer during school hours but denies that he was also masturbating.
Radio New Zealand cannot name the man or the well-known school where he used to work.
The police detective who interviewed the teacher gave evidence in the Auckland District Court this morning, and said the teacher admitted he had viewed pornography on his school-issued computer several times.
He also admitted to the detective that a computer log would indicate he was looking at porn at the time of the allegation, but said he was fully clothed at the time.
