A man is in a critical condition after it is believed he was stabbed at a property in Tauranga.

Police said they heard about the attack on the 41-year old, on Belk Road, just before 5am today.
He was taken to Tauranga Hospital for surgery but is now in Waikato Hospital.
A 32-year-old man is assisting the police with their enquiries and a scene examination is taking place at the property.
