Auckland Transport says the current operator, Trans Dev, along with Kiwirail and Serco, is shortlisted for the job.

The new operator will run Auckland's new fleet of electric trains, which is expected to be in full service later this year, as well as diesel trains between Papakura and Pukekohe.
