A bird strike on a flight from Christchurch to Wellington this morning grounded a plane for several hours.
Air New Zealand says following the mid-air collision on Flight 334, the plane was inspected by engineers.
As a result Flight 418 from Wellington to Auckland was delayed but the aircraft returned to service this afternoon.
