Police in Canterbury are moving to what they are describing as a recovery operation for a kayaker presumed drowned in Lake Coleridge.

He was last seen by a member of the public on Saturday afternoon after falling out of his kayak and struggling to stay afloat some 200 metres offshore.
An aerial search and police divers have failed to locate the man.
