A 26-year-old woman charged with murdering a Porirua man has been released on strict bail conditions.
Police were called to a house in Porirua at about 11pm last night, where they found a man in a critical condition with stab wounds. He died later in hospital.
Detective Senior Sergeant Warwick McKee said the woman appeared in court today and was charged with murder.
He said the people were known to each other and they were not looking for anyone else in connection to the death.
"We believe it's a family violence incident at that address in Porirua. As I say they're known to each other and unfortunately the 37-year-old male deceased at hospital when he was taken there in the early hours this morning."
In a separate incident the police have arrested a 42-year-old Hutt Valley man in relation to a stabbing in Upper Hutt early this morning that left a woman in a critical condition and a man with arm lacerations.
