An 18-year-old man has died after he was struck by a car on Napier Road in Palmerston North this morning.
Police said the man was seen by a passing motorist walking down Napier Road at about 2am.
He was struck shortly after this by an on-coming car.
Emergency services attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Manawatu CIB and the Serious Crash Unit are investigating.
Police said they would not release the man's name until formal identification had been completed and his next of kin had been informed.
