A central Hamilton bridge has reopened after a man was helped down from under the bridge's road structure.

The Victoria Bridge on Bridge Street is 39 metres above the Waikato River.
The police cordoned off all access to the bridge while emergency workers clipped to the bridge's under structure made their way to the man.
