A one-year old baby has drowned in a temporary backyard swimming pool in south Auckland.
Emergency services were called to the house in Manurewa about 1pm today.
Police were investigating the circumstances leading up to the drowning and the death had been referred to the Coroner.
Police were reminding parents and caregivers that young children should be directly supervised by an adult when they were around water.
