A helicopter has taken a hunter from the Lake Tarawera area after he fell ill.
The BayTrust Rescue Helicopter was sent to pick up the 67-year old man in a remote area shortly after midday.
A paramedic was winched down to the hunter to help stabilise him, before he made his way to a boat that took him to where the helicopter could land.
He's been flown to Rotorua Hospital for further treatment.
