A woman is charged with murder, after the discovery of a body in the Christchurch suburb of Bryndwr on Sunday. She will appear in court on Monday.
Police are examining the Earnslaw Crescent address where the body was found and are speaking to witnesses.
They have not yet confirmed the dead person's identity and a post-mortem is likely.
