An elderly Christchurch man has died after a crash involving a truck near Belfast last week.
A police spokesperson says John Palmer Allan, 82, was the sole occupant of a hatchback that was struck by a truck and trailer unit on Johns Road on 24 October.
The spokesperson says it appears Mr Allan was turning from Connemara Drive into Johns Road, part of Sate Highway 1, and failed to give way to the truck travelling on Johns Road.
The man was taken to Christchurch Hospital with critical injuries and died in hospital on Wednesday.
