Business deals signed by Chinese delegation

The mayor of Wellington says the visit by the largest Chinese civic and business delegation has led to significant business deals being signed.

The 180-strong group is from Zhejiang, one of China's most prosperous provinces.

The trip has been underpinned by an agreement signed by four Wellington region mayors and Zhejiang's governor to increase economic opportunities between the two regions.

One company is signing deals worth $10 million with three New Zealand companies.

The province's radio and TV group is making a documentary about Wellington, which the city's mayor Celia Wade-Brown says is expected to be played in 56 countries, including China. She says this will be huge exposure for Wellington.
