Legislation enacting the Government's multibillion-dollar leaky homes package has passed its third and final reading with unanimous support.
The Weathertight Homes Resolution Services (Financial Assistance Package) Amendment Bill was debated in Parliament on Tuesday.
After years of negotiation and court action, the Government settled on a package under which home owners will pay half the cost of repairs, while central and local government will pay 25% each.
The major banks will provide loans to homeowners with a government guarantee.
