Hearings on proposed changes to the emissions trading scheme are now likely to run into a third week.
National Party MPs on the Finance and Expenditure Select Committee earlier wanted all submissions to be heard on a single day.
But the Labour Party managed to force a vote - with support from the Greens, ACT and the Maori Party - to hear all those who wished to be heard.
Early submissions were from major emitters, umbrella environmental groups and business.
The later hearings have consisted of more individual submissions.
