Indonesia is unhappy with a push by Pacific Island nations to stop violence in West Papua, Prime Minister John Key says.

The Pacific Island Forum this week resolved to consult Indonesia over how to monitor and investigate human rights abuses in the Indonesian province.
Mr Key said Indonesia believed the forum nations should not be meddling in the internal affairs of a sovereign state.
However, Pacific leaders said they thought the issue was regional in nature, and they could not continue to treat it as an internal Indonesian problem.
Papua New Guinea leader Peter O'Neill said he would convey the forum's views on West Papua to the Indonesian Government.
