The National Party has listed 44 cases of state housing premises being illegally sub-let by their tenants.
The list covers the year to April.
In one case, Housing spokesperson, Phil Heatley, says the tenant was able to sublet a state house for more than eight years without being detected.
Housing New Zealand says less than 2% of people referred to its investigations unit by last month, were proved to be subletting.
