The Maori Party says housing plans announced by the Mana Movement are just an endorsement of work already underway by the Maori Party.
Mana is proposing to build 10,000 state houses annually and then and either sell or rent those houses to Maori.
Mana leader Hone Harawira says the party would update and extend a former Maori Affairs housing loan scheme to help Maori into their own homes.
He says first home buyers would be offered low-interest deals on newly-built 200-thousand-dollar homes, with no deposit.
The Maori Party candidate in the the Ikaroa Rawhiti by-election, Na Raihania, says it's good to see Mana supporting a key plank of its Kainga Whenua policy, to lend money to those unable to build, relocate or buy.
