A man is recovering in Auckland Hospital after being stabbed allegedly by a 15-year-old occupant of the home he was caught in.
Police say the stab wounds to the 19-year-old male intruder's torso are not life-threatening.
Detective Senior Sergeant Stan Brown says the boy and his father were woken by noises on their Henderson property just after 1am on Thursday.
Mr Brown says the intruder was found in the garage and stabbed during a scuffle.
Police have interviewed the father and son and an investigation is underway.
